Our Cabins

All of our cabins and furniture have been lovingly built or restored by the owner and host Harvey, who in a former life was a carpenter and building contractor in the U.S. Hand sewn quilts and curtains by Susan add a touch of home to your stay with us. Look around and you will see mosaics, wood carvings and handicrafts throughout the lodge. We are delighted you are considering our Lodge and hope you will find time to come and visit us in our corner of paradise soon!

From the comfortable and spacious beach house to camping we offer a full range of selections to fit any budget.

The Beach House

Drift off to sleep with the gentle lapping of waves of the Golfo Dulce only 50' away. 

Just steps from the beach and at the center of all activity, the two-story Beach House is constructed from beautiful exotic hardwoods and offers unobstructed 360° views of the property and gulf. The Beach House will accommodate up to 7 adults.


The second story offers open-air lounging with a private king bedroom and bath, another 1/2 bath and a huge open living area with additional sleeping area containing two queen beds and a convertible sofa. 


The relaxing area with sofa, tables and chairs overlooks the tranquil Golfo Dulce, flora and fauna below.

There is a private outdoor passive solar hot water shower among the botanicals and under the blue sky or evening stars or you have the option of using our brand new passive hot water shower located upstairs.

Totally screened and with solar powered electric lighting, this comfortable and spacious cabin enjoys a nice breeze from the Gulfo Dulce during the day  and cool mountain air at night.

           Private outdoor hot water shower. One shower is passive solar and the other is a gas on demand heater. Newly added is a passive hot water shower on the second floor of the beach house.

The Tree House

Eighty-eight steps lead to this private and intimate treetop cabin in the canopy overlooking the gulf. The spacious cabin is equipped with a card table, reading chairs one queen bed and one bunk bed. The beautiful hardwood floors and comfortable reading chairs make it a cozy place to relax after an active morning.

The Tree House offers visitors the opportunity to observe animal and  bird activity while perched in native jungle canopy. Howler or whiteface monkeys, toucans, and parrots are just a few of the animals you may spot on the private balcony.

This cabin is perfect for those seeking tranquility and harmony with nature. It is fully screened. Lighting is from  battery lanterns. It has a full bathroom with hot water shower.

The Bungalow












Perfect for couples, it has  a queen  bed, is roomy yet compact, With a private bathroom, solar lighting, closet and lots of storage area for your gear, this is your private haven at Saladero Eco Lodge. Walls and furniture are constructed with purple heart wood giving the cabin a lovely ambiance. At one side of the Bungalow  is a private patio with outdoor hot water shower, surrounded by lush tropical  plants close to a trickling brook. The Bungalow is conveniently located close to the beach house with a view of the Golfo Dulce, primary rainforest and gardens.

The Mariposa (Butterfly) Cabin

Our most economical cabin is totally screened and has comfortable mattersses. 

Perfect for families or couples on a budget. 

The Mariposa cabin has one single sofa bed and one bunk  bed for a capacity of 3 persons. Lighting is by solar lamps.  It is locatd in a  private garden area with pineapple plants and cashew trees. The view of the Golfo Dulce is in front and primary rainforest in back. It is a short 3 minute walk to a new full bathroom and a passive hot water shower a few feet away.

Whats the difference?????

The glamping cabins have additional screening and twin or queen size beds with orthopedic mattresses. 

 

A more economical alternative to staying in the cabins, it still includes the boat transportation, meals and unlimited use of our kayaks, snorkeling and fishing equipment. 

Outdoor passive hot water shower 30’ away and full bathroom is only 75” away. 


                                                                        TENT CABINS

The Tent cabins are designed for you to be able to set up your own tent, mattresses and sleeping bag inside high and dry. 

With huge roofs on our new covered platforms to protect you from the elements this is the most comfortable "Camping" in the Golfo Dulce.  All sides close with screening and the open platforms can also be used for yoga. 

The cabins are located in our beautiful tropical gardens with the Golfo Dulce in front and the primary rainforest of the Piedras Blancas in back.

With 6 cabins capable of sleeping 4 persons each these are perfect for family or student groups traveling on a budget.  Contact us for group prices. 

Adjacent to the cabins is a new outdoor passive hot water shower and a full bathroom is located just 60' away.

A large grassy area down by the beach is perfect for soccer, football or vollyball.

Choose to bring your own food and prepare in the rancho or have meals with us. Refrigeration not available. Boat transportation, meals, use of kayaks, snorkeling and fishing equipment is  not included in the tent cabin price. $20 per person per day.


Camping

The camping area is located in a palm shaded grassy area right on the beach. Outdoor fresh water shower next to the beach and a short walk away there is a new double outdoor shower and full bathroom. The new rancho on the beach has running water, kitchen sink and benches.  

Choose to bring your own food and prepare in the rancho or have meals with us. Refrigeration not available. Boat transportation not included in the camping price. $10 per person per day.
