The family owned La Leona Eco Lodge, Danta Corcovado Lodge and Saladero Eco Lodge are remote, pristine and each one offers a unique and differing experience. All partner lodge packages include 3 days at Saladero Ecolodge and 2 or 3 days at other lodges and/ or Osa Verde Research Station. Local transportation, cabins, meals, classes and listed tours are all included. All lodges offer a variety of optional tours. It is possible to exchange an included tour for a optional one.

• Entry ticket and professional guided tour (7 hours) of Corcovado National Park at Danta Corcovado Lodge and professional guided tour (3-4 hours) of Corcovado National Park at the La Leona Entrance optional tour of horseback riding on the beach available at La Leona Lodge

 

Explore the magnificent Corcovado National Park from its Los Patos and Carate entrances. La Leona is located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Osa Penninsula, the beach is breathtaking and a protected area for turtle nesting. Take advantage of an experienced local guide and learn about the interesting biodiversity of the tropical rainforest, while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and comfortable accomodations. Danta Corcovado Lodge is located near La Palma and has the advantage of being very close to the park with outstanding guides for birdwatching and wildlife viewing.

At Saladero Ecolodge, kayak and swim in the calm turquoise waters of the Golfo Dulce with dolphins and sea turtles, explore the Rio Esquinas Mangrove Estuary, snorkel a coral reef 15 minutes away and fish where the locals come to fish. All kayaks, snorkeling and fishing equipment are included.

Included in your package price is a complimentary tour of the property and in the evening, a slide show presentation on our participation in Osa Conservation's Cat Monitoring program. See photos of the animals that roam the primary forest surrounding Saladero Ecolodge.

You can also explore our private trails on your own in the primary rainforest of Piedras Blancas National Park and keep on the lookout for the many exotic species of birds and animals.

Bird Watching Packages

 

Bird watching is amazing in this pristine part of Costa Rica. Rare and endemic species like the yellow billed Cotinga and the mangrove hummingbird are found in this "least traveled" area of Costa Rica.

At Saladero Ecolodge we have gulf, secondary forest, primary rainforest, mangroves and riverine ecosystems. A multitude of species all within easy walking distance. Packages are available with Saladero Ecolodge and Danta Ecolodge for 6 nights, 7 days and 5 nights, 6 days.

Tropical Conservation

 

We are honored to work with Osa Conservation in several local conservation programs and to be able to offer this tropical conservation package for couples, families and small groups. 

We have found many people visiting us are interested in the local conservation programs efforts as well as tropical ecology in general. We have been working with Osa Conservation on the Cat monitoring program since 2014 and are very happy to announce a package that includes an introduction to mangroves, wild animal monitoring, turtle conservation, reforestation and sustainable living. Osa Verde Biostation by Osa Conservaion is a research center dedicated to environmental education and also provides facilities for scientists studying many facets of tropical biology.

 

Classes and field work include:

• Mangrove exploration

• Sustainable living

• Medicinal plants

• Tropical reforestation

• Maintaining healthy rivers

 

And there is still plenty of time to kayak, snorkel local coral reefs and hike in Piedras Blancas National Park.
