Places to Stay
We are always looking for small, comfortable and friendly hotels to be able to recommend to our guests when staying in San Jose, Golfito or Pto Jimenez for a layover night. Here are a few that we know personally:
Pura Vida Hotel - A wonderful hotel/bed and breakfast located in Alajuela and only 10 minutes from the airport. Owners and hosts Bernie and Nhi serve first class meals, provide lots of information about Costa Rica and offer very comfortable cabins and beds. www.puravidahotel.com
Hotel Brilla Sol - A small costa rican hotel 10 minutes from the airport They have a shuttle, restaurant and include breakfast. They are in a quiet residential area. WiFi in the lobby.
Adventure Inn - More of an "american" style hotel with pool, restaurant, air conditioning and a unique breakfast included.
You will need to take a taxi from the airport 10 minutes. Great WiFi in the room. Short walk to supermarket.

Hotel Mar y Luna – Bay view, bar/restaurant and comfortable accommodations. We pick up at their dock. Rooms $50 - $100 for 2 persons including breakfast. If you are driving and coming to Saladero there is no charge for leaving a car if you rent a room. Wifi in all rooms. email email@example.com.

Finca Bellavista - Unique tree house community located 20 minutes from Golfito with treehouse rentals in the canopy.
Villas De Oros - DRIVING? If you are driving and don't want to stay in Golfito, Ojochal is on the way from San Jose. Just a short drive from Uvita and about 1 1/2 hours from Golfito, it is a very nice small hotel located right on the highway. Rooms are spacious with a small kitchen and cooking area. Don't want to cook? Several good restaurants close by.
Cabinas Jimenez – Nice rooms on the water. AC, tv. Short walk to the center of town and restaurants. WiFi in the room.
Inn Jimenez - A really nice boutique 3 bedroom bed and breakfast in the center of town owned by Lookout Inn. If you are going to Lookout they will make all of the arrangements for you.
Cacao Monkeys Rustic Lodge - Rustic cabins located a short walk from downtown Pto Jimenez. I a quiet area, comfortable beds with fans and a gourmet vegetarian restaurant on site. (Meats dishes as well). Parking, breakfast included and wifi. email email@example.com
Located directly across from Saladero Ecolodge on the Osa Penninsula, this is the closest distance by water to us. If driving, you can leave your car at LAPAMAR lodge while at Saladero.
